Tests and Results

If you would like to find out if your test results have been received by the surgery you are more than welcome to ring after 11:00. We will be able to tell you if your results are back and if your doctor has reviewed them or not. Please bear in mind that blood tests can take up to a week and other results such as x-rays can take up to a month to come back.

Once your doctor has reviewed your results, he or she will only contact you if further action or treatment is needed. However, if your GP told you to make an appointment to review your tests, then it is important that you do so, and not assume the results are okay. If your results dictate that you need to be dealt with urgently you will receive a phone call from us or for less urgent needs you may hear from us by post.

If you are asked to phone the surgery with regard to your results this does not necessarily mean that there is anything seriously wrong but may well just mean that your doctor feels that your results need explaining to you or that further tests are required.
