Community Midwives

Tracey-Dawn White

Our Midwife will help you throughout your pregnancy looking after you and your unborn child. Tracey also runs antenatal classes to prepare you for the birth and will visit you in your home when your baby has been born.

Tracey will be here on Tuesday mornings and all day Thursday but her phone number is South Bristol Community hospital in Hengrove (where she is normally based) on 0117 3429841.

Community Nurses

Sharon Grainger

Our District Nurses provide care to patients during periods of illness or incapacity in their own homes. Patients may include the housebound, elderly, terminally ill, disabled and people recently discharged from hospital.

Our Services for Older People

Sharon Grainger, Community Matron for older people is a registered nurse who offers help and advice on a wide range of health and social issues that affect older people. She is available to support carers of older people and works closely with GPs, local social services, voluntary agencies and hospitals.

Kirstie Moore is a Trainee Assistant Practitioner who works alongside Sharon to offer a service to patients with complex medical conditions and their carers. The service is designed to reduce the need for people to be admitted to hospital by offering appropriate services at home, education and clinical and psychological support. This service is accessed through GP or hospital referral.

We have two Podiatrists who work from Stockwood. If you have a problem with your foot care, or an illness such as diabetes that can affect your feet, please contact reception who will ask you to complete a form which will be sent off to Avon Health. The Podiatrist will then arrange an appointment to see you.


We run an Audiology Clinic here at Stockwood Medical Centre which is by appointment through St Michael’s Hospital only. To make an appointment please ring 0117 342 5854.

Our Audiologist will run tests to test for any hearing deficiency in our specialised room and repair or organise replacements of hearing aids.

Drugs Counsellor

Peter Ursell and Rachel Sunderland work for BDP and supports patients who have drug addiction problems and want to work towards solving these.


Sarah Miller, psychotherapist, visits the surgery every fortnight on a Tuesday.  Click here for further information.  The fee is £50 per hour session.
